One highlight of the conferences is the Legislative Breakfast scheduled for Wednesday morning. At the breakfast, NYTA members will present to Assemblymembers on unemployment, health care, and our youth.
The NYTA mission is to create a citizen-led movement for renewing the economic prospects of Upstate New York. Founding member groups are ARISE – Albany, ACTS –Syracuse, INTERFAITH ACTION – Rochester, VOICE Buffalo, and NOAH Niagara.
In 2007, the NYTA conducted a listening campaign in the spring, an issues assembly in the summer, and public actions on a joint issue campaign in the fall. Tremendous energy and high hopes have attended this unprecedented effort to link the power of congregations and community groups across upstate for a long-term effort to revitalize our economy.
