PUSH Member Speaks out for Fair Share Tax Reform

On Thursday March 5th, a crew of PUSH members and staff went to support Fair Share Tax Reform at a rally at True Bethel Baptist Church. There were a ton of folks there from a broad spectrum of community organizations as well as some politicos. Among the several people who spoke was PUSH Board Co-Chair Jen Mecozzi. Jen spoke about the difficulties of balancing taking care of her two children while working as a line cook for ten dollars an hour and how that difficulty would be compounded under the current budget proposal from Governor Paterson. Jen then brought it home and made a strong appeal for Fair Share Tax Reform, where those can just pay a little more in order to make sure we have our basic needs met.
