Park Planning Victory!

Today, 3.2.10., PUSH staff and leaders Terry, Mike, Jalal, and Nico met with Buffalo's Commissioner of Public Works today about the plan we're working on for our neighborhood park on Mass Ave.

 

 

We told the Commissioner about our planning meeting in October, where nearly 100 residents came out to give their ideas for improving the park, and showed him the park plan we made from all those ideas. The Commissioner and his staff gave us their input on our plan and committed close to $100,000 of City funding to our park. They committed to meet with us again by the end of March to figure out a plan for spending that money.

 

 

We are really excited as not only is a good chunk of money coming to our park, now we have a seat at the table to decide what it's used for! After this victory, we have plenty of work ahead to see our plan for the park through.
