Overview: The Workforce & Recruitment Coordinator supports PUSH Buffalo’s workforce recruitment and development efforts by connecting people to employment and training opportunities available (1) at PUSH Buffalo, (2) through the Sustainable Workforce Training Center (SWTC), (3) through the Community Hiring Hall Program, and (4) with community partners.

The Workforce & Recruitment Coordinator will recruit prospective employees, training center program participants, and Hiring Hall participants, complete intakes in Salesforce, assist with onboarding and training, make referrals, assist with employment applications, and follow up with individuals for continued support.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform outreach and marketing including social media, canvassing, attending job fairs, initiating emails to partners, and more.
• Consults data and records to screen, identify and recommend potential and qualified candidates for vacant positions.
• Conduct intakes with new Community Hiring Hall participants and log interactions accurately in Salesforce.
• Checks candidates references and credentials, verifying experience and backgrounds (as needed).
• Counsels candidates on the interview and hiring process.
• Organizes and attends job fairs, campus events, and other networking opportunities.
• Follows up with clients or hiring managers after the interview process to determine whether a placement can be made; collects feedback when placement is unsuccessful.
• Arranges meeting locations, travel, and/or accommodations for applicants and company managers when necessary.
• Maintains and ensures compliance with applicable equal employment opportunity (EEO) and related employment laws and regulations.
• Collects and analyzes data to maintain current understanding of fair and competitive market salaries, candidate availability, and demand for candidates in particular fields.
• Create and maintain list of employers who are currently hiring.
• Identify barriers and goals, then make referrals to outside programs and PUSH programs and help participants with follow through.
• Prepare lists of people interested in various PUSH programs, including specific training or careers.
• Assist people with researching and applying to jobs outside of PUSH.
• Maintain communication with job seekers after they’re employed.
• Assist Workforce & Recruitment Manager with researching and establishing Hiring Hall online learning platform.
• Assist with educational programming and development research and implementation.
• Assist in coordination between sub-contractors/vendors for in person trainings/lectures to students that support pipeline from Hiring Hall to contractors.
• Coordinate all aspects of PUSH workforce trainings, including planning and logistics.
• Assist with related grant applications, narrative, budget, tracking, and reporting.
• Create and maintain educational programming and technical based training materials.

Education and Qualifications
• High School Diploma, Equivalency or and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and familiar with information technology systems key. Salesforce experience helpful.
• Familiarity with and interest in employment support, workforce development, and green jobs.
• Experience with social media management and educational content creation.
• Alignment with PUSH’s mission of intersectional approaches to social, economical and environmental justice.
• Knowledgeable of local organizations and community leaders.
• Strong communication and people skills – ability to engage with a wide range of people.
• A proactive, creative, and flexible attitude.
• Strong organizational skills and follow through.
• Good attention to detail.
• Self-starter, creative, innovative, flexible and enthusiastic.
• Able to work well independently.
• Willingness to participate in a broad scope of organizational initiatives a plus.
• A valid NYS driver’s license and access to reliable private transportation is required.

• Bi-lingual a plus.

Residence in Buffalo, NY area, with ability to work on site is required. 

 

The starting pay for this position, starting salary to be determined by combination of education, experience, and skill level, is:

  • $21.44-24.00 per hour
